Judging

The Manaakitanga Awards 2010 have an elite panel of judges comprising of judges from AUT School of Hospitality and Tourism, Tourism Auckland and Slow Food Convivium.

The judging process to decide on finalists for this year involved the panel evaluating nominee questionnaires and marking these against an approved criteria sheet. Each category was judged by up to three judges who are experts in that area, once the criteria sheets were totalled, any anomalies or draws were discussed and resolved by the panel as a whole – in the case of deadlock, the Chief Judge cast the deciding vote.

Judges will be taking part in mystery visiting selected category finalists during July and August, scores will be combined with nomination evaluation scores and public voting to determine winners.
